Lewis Hamilton’s Bold Declaration Will Worry Verstappen, Vettel: Rosberg

Having sealed his 7th championship crown in Turkey, Lewis Hamilton claimed that he feels as though he is only just getting started. That can only be an ominous sign for his rivals, who would have hoped to end his dominance sometime soon.
However, Lewis’s former Mercedes teammate and once fierce rival, Nico Rosberg, claims that the other drivers on the grid have little to no chance when it comes to beating F1’s Mr. Incredible.
Rosberg said, “To beat him you need to give everything 100 per cent perfect otherwise you have no chance.”

Of course, one would also need to have title winning machinery to have a shot at beating Hamilton. But as Valtteri Bottas knows well by now, that is no easy task either.
As per the 2016 world champion, Lewis’s post race statements should be enough to strike fear into the hearts of his opponents. For a man who has already won 7 titles, 95 races, and about a gazillion podiums and pole positions, the fact that he is still hungry for more is a scary prospect, believes the German.
He said, “I think to hear that for the opposition is going to be a bit of a scary thing!
“For the likes of Bottas or Verstappen or Vettel or whoever else is still out there, if he’s saying it’s just the beginning – my goodness, what’s he going to end up with?”
Hamilton may well end up with a lot more success and perhaps even titles under his belt. But it’s worth remembering that he is yet to sign a contract that keeps him in the sport next year.

Rosberg himself knows what it feels to retire on a high, having called it a day soon after winning his first and only championship.
With Mercedes and Hamilton still stalling on contract negotiations, Rosberg is very eager to know the outcome.

“I’m going to be interested to follow his decisions, what he decides to do going forward, since he hasn’t done a contract yet for next year.”
It’ll certainly be something to keep tabs on. But one would assume that Hamilton would be in no mood to quit so soon, considering he himself he has got plenty of gas left in the tank, evidenced by his outing at Istanbul Park.
