Verstappen is proving to be a growing titan of the sport. The Dutchman has put up a solid fight against Lewis Hamilton, who has defended his crown for seven years. Although, Jos Verstappen believes Mercedes is turning a blind eye to Verstappen’s surge. “Red Bull knows how good Max is, Mercedes doesn’t yet. And that might be a good thing for them too.”

Elucidating why it’s beneficial that the Silver Arrows are ignorant about his son, Jos explained the beauty of Verstappen beginning and ending his career with Red Bull; thus, free of being poached by Mercedes. “How nice would it be, if you start here and, eventually, stop and be successful? Why not? As long as he has a winning car.”

In the conversation of comparing the two championship protagonists, it’s easy to belittle the Dutchman. Yet, race after race, Verstappen has only proven his naysayers wrong. Max Verstappen is the torchbearer for the new generation of drivers in Formula 1.
