The moment shattered all the assumptions of toxicity between the two confirming the respect they share for each other. Regardless of their fanbase differing from this opinion, many F1 fans celebrate this joyful moment shared between them.

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton’s rivalry is considered to be one of the fiercest ones of the last decade. The 2021 title championship came down to the last race, with the winner of the race taking the Championship. In an unfortunate turn of events, Verstappen took the championship from Hamilton’s hands. Ever since that moment, their fan bases have shared hate-like feelings for each other. Toxicity grew stronger as time passed and Hamilton was unable to challenge for a title again. 

Whilst there might’ve been a few heated moments between the two, they never wished anything bad for the other one. Even after the robbery of 2021, the seven-time world champion went up to Verstappen and congratulated him for winning the world championship like a true sportsman. Despite the toxicity in their fan bases, Verstappen and Hamilton never lost respect for each other. 

In a recent video that surfaced after the 2023 Australian GP, Verstappen and Hamilton are seen sharing an adorable moment. The Briton and the Dutchman are seen on the podium after the champagne celebration. While posing for the media, the 38-year-old points toward Verstappen and says something, followed by both of them giggling and sharing a moment. Later in the video, the Red Bull driver says something and gives a little tap to the Brit on his back. It was as if both of them were congratulating each other for a job well done.

They might be rivals, but their rivalries aren’t built on hatred but out of sheer respect for each other. The F1 community is going gaga over the lovely moment shared by the two and has started expressing their joy.
