Red Bull won the 2021 drivers’ championship in a dramatic fashion courtesy of Max Verstappen. With the 2022 season just a few months away, the Milton-Keynes-based outfit is already working to ensure that they go all-out to defend the Dutchman’s world title.

The team’s advisor, Dr. Helmut Marko, has stated that Red Bull is working tirelessly. He further said that only the management and drivers can take the holidays off, while the rest of the team at the factory have to put in the hours to ensure they are a step ahead of the rivals in 2022.

The 2021 season was perhaps the most intense season that we have witnessed in recent years. In the end, it was Verstappen who became the world champion. With the celebrations of winning the championship done and dusted, Marko reveals the Milton Keynes-based outfit is putting in the work ahead of the 2022 season. 

As quoted from Auto Motor und Sport, Marko said, “It works around the clock. The English are not that much holiday-makers. They only know Boxing Day.”

He added, “Honda is working massively on the adaptation. What I hear is positive. But the performance is not yet the same as in 2021. You will generally have to wait to see how it looks in racing trim.” (Translated from German via Google)

Without a doubt, the 2021 Formula One season was perhaps the best we’ve seen in recent years. Throughout the 2021 season, Verstappen pushed his arch-rival and title challenger, Lewis Hamilton to the edge. 

The Dutch driver won the world championship in the title-deciding race at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The 24-year-old ended the season with ten victories, ten pole positions, eighteen podium finishes, and 395.5 points to his name.
