Sebastian Vettel is a four-time world champion in Formula One. He has done it all in the sport and will surely go down as one of the greatest drivers of all time. The German attributes his success in the sport to his father, who helped him throughout his journey.

On a rare occasion in Monza, Seb was seen taking a track walk on Thursday with his father, Norbert. The Aston Martin driver tells the story behind his track walk with his dad in Monza.

Without him, I wouldn’t be here: Sebastian Vettel

As reported by Motorsport. it, the former Ferrari stated that without his father’s support he wouldn’t have made it to F1. He also mentioned that his father hid some uphill races while he was young and coming up in motorsports.

“Without him, I wouldn’t be here! For me, he was a great inspiration when I was young. He did some uphill races, and we started doing motorsports with the family.” said Vettel on his father’s influence on him.

“He’s been supporting me all these years, and he still does. The story of the track walk in Monza is quite simple. Due to the format of the sprint race, the weekend times were a bit different from the usual ones, but I arrived on the track as always and… there was no one! So I told my dad if he wanted to do a lap, and we went together. In the end, it was very nice.” said Vettel.

The Aston Martin driver reveals the reason behind continuing racing in 2022

Sebastian Vettel signed on with Aston Martin to continue racing with them for the 2022 season. He mentioned that he still has the same love for racing that he had in the beginning.

“Driving, competitiveness. Obviously, I love to drive. I love to win. Next year many things will change, I don’t think today there is a single team that can be sure of winning in 2022, we know that a great challenge awaits us and I like working with these people. 

The current season is a great season for us, perhaps not in terms of results, but certainly in terms of work. Morale is high, and this creates enthusiasm. Obviously, after many years in Formula 1, there are some things I like. Less like being here now and answering questions, but it’s part of the game.” concluded the Aston Martin driver.

It has been a successful season for Vettel as he put in strong performances with the team. He scored a P2 in Baku and P5 in Monaco, and he also had a P2 in Hungary before his disqualification.
