Thanks to the tools at our disposal, we are living in a globally connected world. Every part of our world is connected with the other with news and entertainment. Every sport has become global and every star that showcases their skills in their respective disciplines has become global. Prime examples of this global status are stars like Lionel Messi, David Beckham, Lewis Hamilton, etc. In an incredible twist of fate, Beckham convinced Messi to join his MLS team and the two are adding tiny stars to their already star-studded careers. According to a former F1 boss, Hamilton can follow in Beckham’s footsteps thanks to his worldwide popularity and status.

Similar to Messi, Hamilton has achieved everything there is in the world of Formula 1. If he attains the elusive eighth championship title, one can assume there will be no motivation left for Hamilton to continue. This is when the Brit can go out and explore the global world with different industries, as he already does from time to time. Hamilton can explore music, movies, and fashion and perhaps get himself a stake in another team. Regardless of what he chooses to do, according to Eddie Jordan, as quoted by Formula Passion, he should follow in Beckham’s footsteps.

“Lewis Hamilton is absolutely global and can do what he wants. His image lends itself to being recognized and what he has done follows in the footsteps of what David Beckham, for example, who moved from Great Britain to Europe to Asia and is now synonymous with United,” said Jordan. Hamilton still has a few years to go before he can hang up his helmet and try different things. However, if the Brit does not renew with Mercedes will he add another chapter in his life with Ferrari?

Despite winning everything, like Lionel Messi, will Lewis Hamilton be able to replicate his heroics at Ferrari?

Two greats of their sports have crossed paths on the global stage on multiple occasions. The most recent crossing of said paths was when Laureus made Messi, their Sportsman of the Year, putting him ahead of Hamilton. The Argentine won two awards in 2022, which brought his tally to five compared to Hamilton’s four Laureus awards. F1 GOAT even penned down a short message to congratulate the soccer GOAT.

With such comparisons, we also looked at if Hamilton will be able to have the same impact on Ferrari that Messi is currently showcasing in Inter Miami.

There is no direct comparison between the two sports. However, if Hamilton does move to Ferrari from Mercedes after winning everything, it surely will be a challenge. A challenge especially because of Ferrari’s current state and the fact the Italian team has not won a trophy since 2008.

Messi followed a similar path after leaving PSG and joining Inter Miami following his World Cup heroics. Although Messi did make an instant impact and has already led his team to the League Cup Finals.

Will Hamilton be able to do the same for Ferrari? We can’t be too sure, especially because of F1’s reliability on the cars. Although give Hamilton a competitive enough car and Ferrari might just break their trophy drought.
