The former Real Madrid Superstar added McLaren’s $1,000,000 worth tribute to Ayrton Senna to his prolific car collection which is worth $18,000,000. Ayrton Senna is arguably the greatest F1 driver to grace the F1 tarmac. Despite only having 3 championships to his name, many believed that Senna would’ve gone on to set multiple records had he not passed away while pursuing his passion at the 1994 San Marino GP. Still, his legacy is remembered to date. The Brazilian notably drove with McLaren for 6 years and won all three of his championships with the team. 

As a tribute to the Legend, McLaren named their latest Hypercar after Senna. Yes, we’re talking about the McLaren Senna. The Hypercar was the replacement for McLaren’s flagship P1. The Hypercar costs $1,000,000 and boasts a staggering 789 horsepower and with a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds. Senna is arguably the most aerodynamically advanced produced by the British brand, a well-suited tribute to the legend.

As we all know, Cristiano Ronaldo is a car enthusiast. The Portuguese footballer’s name always comes up during the footballing GOAT debate. Ronaldo has a staggering $18,000,000 worth of cars in his collection. The collection included multiple Buggatis and Ferraris. Nonetheless, when the opportunity arrived to add the legendary Senna to his collection, Ronaldo couldn’t pass and bought a silver, McLaren Senna.

Whilst the McLaren Senna is named after Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian did actually help with the development of a car back in the day that was supposed to dethrone the F1 rival’s car.

During his time with McLaren in the late 80s, the British team partnered with Honda as their engine supplier. As a result of the partnership, Ayrton Senna helped with the development of a road-going Honda supercar. Honda Started the project with the aim of producing an everyday reliable supercar that was easier to live with and compete against the Ferrari 328. Once the prototype was ready, Senna helped with the fine-tuning and handling of the car.

The car was named the Honda NS-X. NS-X stood for New Sports Experimental. The car had the looks and performance to beat a Ferrari while still maintaining the Honda’s reliability and ease to drive. To date, NS-X is considered to be one of the best-handling cars of all time. The car itself became a JDM legend and is highly in demand by all JDM enthusiasts.
