‘Terrible’ for Daniel Ricciardo to Have an F1 Teammate Like Lando Norris: Nico Rosberg

Lando Norris has certainly impressed everyone this season after a string of amazing performances. One, in particular, is 2016 world champion, Nico Rosberg, who thinks Norris is capable of winning a world title. But, at the same time, he feels bad for his teammate, Daniel Ricciardo, who hasn’t been able to match Lando’s pace.

Norris has been able to score points from every Grand Prix till now this season and has even scored two podiums in the process – one at the Emilia GP and the other at the Monaco GP, placing third in both races. However, the same can’t be said for his Australian teammate, who has struggled to make an impact with the Woking-based squad.

Rosberg feels Daniel Ricciardo is at risk against Norris

The 21-year-old has shown an amazing pace this season and out-qualifying his experienced teammate in every session. Hence, Rosberg feels that Ricciardo is vulnerable as Norris is showing everyone what he is capable of.

Speaking to SkyF1, as quoted by Formule1, Rosberg said, “It’s terrible to have a car that doesn’t feel quite right. Then you don’t feel that trust. Daniel sometimes thinks ‘wow, that was a great lap’, like in Monaco, and then looks at the lap time and is eight tenths away from Lando.

“That’s when it gets really hard mentally for you as a driver and that’s really not fun,” Rosberg concluded. (Translated via Google Translate)

At the recent French Grand Prix, the Australian took sixth place, one place behind fifth-placed Norris. Now, the 31-year-old will be looking forward to the Styrian Grand Prix, hoping to build on his improved performance at Paul Ricard.

Ricciardo is optimistic and knows he can extract the most performance out of the Mercedes-powered car. He looks forward to the challenge that the Red Bull Ring possesses and aims for a good result that can prove his doubters wrong.
