Max Verstappen, days after winning his 9th Grand Prix of this season, visited his girlfriend Kelly Piquet’s F1 world champion father, Nelson Piquet.

The news doesn’t sound so sensational, right? One might wonder, what’s the huge deal about Verstappen meeting up with his girlfriend’s dad?

Well, here’s something interesting – This is the first time Piquet and Verstappen have met each other. Bizarre, isn’t it? Kelly revealed her relationship with the Dutchman back in 2020. And moreover, the duo even spent the 2021 new year together in Brazil.

Hence, it’s quite surprising that Verstappen never spent time with Nelson in almost a year despite dating his daughter. Well, they’ve finally managed to do so.

There are a few reasons why Verstappen might have avoided meeting the 3-time world champion over the past year. Brazil has been one of the worst affected countries with respect to COVID-19.

Verstappen is on the verge of securing his first-ever world championship title this season. And what makes this trophy more glorious is he would defeat the long-undefeated 7-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton. So, let’s assume he wins the 2021 championship.

Now onto 2022. Red Bull have taken a gamble by becoming their own engine supplier. Hence, there is a bit of uncertainty whether Red Bull’s journey would continue to cherish the glory they are in the middle of at the moment. But, either way, it looks like Verstappen has a very firm future ahead.
