Fall Guys has been growing bigger with every passing day. However, as of now, the game doesn’t support cross-play. Fans have been waiting to hear updates on whether this would be enabled, and they finally have an answer.

Developers speak on cross-platform for Fall Guys

In a recent interview with Loadout, the developers Mediatonic discussed their plans to bring cross-platform support to the game. While the feature might be added in the future, the developers aren’t currently working on it. This doesn’t come as a surprise since they’ve already spoken about how they’re working to optimize the game for the current platforms.

When asked about cross-play, game designer Joe Walsh said, “There’s nothing new on that front, I’m afraid. We’re still committed to it. I think we’re committed to it even more than we were before. We’re seeing that Fall Guys is bringing people in who don’t usually play multiplayer games together. So if we can get people together with friends as soon as possible, that’s good. It’s important to us as a studio”

Gaming has been growing bigger with time

This news did come as a bit of a disappointment to the community, but on the bright side, the cross-play option is still in works. The developers also confirmed that private lobbies are in the early stages. Private lobbies would open up the chance for teams to practice more often. This would benefit the game since it has been making its name in the Esports scene.

“Fall Guys is ultimately a TV show, and people want to be the director, they want to run their own show. We totally hear the demand for that, but it’ll take us a little while to figure out what that looks like exactly. But it’s on our list of things to do,” Walsh said.

With regard to the game’s transition to the Esports scene, the Twitch Rivals tournament recently got done with Week 1. Having won a cash prize of $7000, FIFA streamer Castro and his team will probably be on cloud nine. DrLupo and team have also made it to the top five, but things could take a sharp turn in Week 2 of the tournament.

Fans were teased with a glimpse of Fall Guys season 2 during Gamescom 2020. Not much was revealed, but the new season will feature a lot of medieval content and include new costumes such as those of dragons, knights, and more. There will also be epic quest-based levels that will make for an even more engaging experience.
