Morocco’s keeper Yassine Bounou had to make some incredible saves to keep the Portuguese out, and most probably did end up as the man of the match.

However, the drama did not seem to stop there. After the match, the Portuguese players went on a bizarre rant that somehow Argentina was behind all the bureaucracy at this year’s world cup.

Bruno Fernandes and Pepe fire shots at the referee after Morocco loss

First, it was the defender Pepe who berated the referee: “It’s inadmissible that an Argentine referee was in charge today after what happened yesterday, with Messi complaining. After what I saw today, they can give the title to Argentina now,” said Pepe in his post-match interview.

Bruno Fernandes was next in line as he went off on a bizarre theory to blame Argentina for their loss.

He continued: “I don’t care. I’m gonna say what I think; f*ck them. It’s very strange that a referee from a country that still is in the cup. Clearly, they put things against us. It’s unacceptable not to have Portuguese referees and to have an Argentine referee in the competition.”

It is indeed very interesting to hear these comments coming from players such as Pepe and Bruno Fernandes. It will also be seen in the coming few days if their words have any kind of impact on the post-match proceedings.
