French Open Super Series: Sindhu in Semis

22-year old shuttler PV Sindhu faced off against Chen Yufei in the French Open Super Series. World No. 2 Sindhu dominated the match throughout, except for a brief period in the second game, against her world No. 10 rival Chen Yufei and won 21-14, 21-14 in the quarter-final match. The last time the two met, Yufei defeated her at the Denmark Open.

This is the first time that Sindhu has gone past the second round in French Open Superseries. She will next face the winner of the match between third seed Sung Ju Hyun of South Korea and fifth seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan. Akane had defeated another Indian contender Saina Nehwal in the second round.

With head-to-head record of 2-2 going into the last eight clash, Sindhu faced a tricky customer in Chen. But the Chinese could not put up a great fight.
