While there were some constant rumors about how Capcom might be planning another RE remake following the phenomenal response to Resident Evil 4, all they needed was a spark traced to an official source. Fortunately, the PlayStation Partners event in Japan have done just that.

According to a credible insider, Capcom confirmed more Resident Evil to be arriving in the near future at the ongoing PlayStation Partners event at the gaming hub of the world. Although there wasn’t any firm information given on which titles are in consideration for the ‘Remake’ sets, the developers are surely planning not one but many RE remakes. 

At the PlayStation partner awards, Resident Evil 4 remake director Yasuhiro Anpo told IGN, “We’ve released three remakes so far and they have all been received very well. Since it allows a modern audience to play these games, it is something I am happy to do as someone that loves these older games, and we want to continue doing more. What game we will remake in the future is something that we would like to announce in the future, so please look forward to it.”

As the claim went viral over the web, it attracted a lot of attention from the community. Moreover, the curiosity about whether Capcom would be able to keep on with the success thread of banking on the brands’ legacy also ignited various discussions.
