MrBeast, the world’s biggest YouTuber, has got a track record in recent years where one can only see him accomplishing milestones. In addition to the viral video-based content, he’s been involved in other businesses as well, like Beast Burger and Feastables. However, the latter part is something Jimmy wouldn’t like to remember too much moving into 2024.

When the YouTuber had decided to expand his brand into products based on his popularity, it seemed like a masterstroke. His idea eventually worked as Beast Burger thrived in just one year of its debut. But it couldn’t last long and died down in mid-2023. As if that wasn’t enough, another controversy over his Feastables candy bar, ‘Deez Nutz’, landed the YouTuber in hot water.

For the uninitiated, a Florida-based peanut company had sued MrBeast’s candy brand Feastables in September 2023. This company is known as Dee’s Nuts – sounds familiar, right? Well, that was the entire reason the owners of Dee’s Nuts decided to go after Jimmy’s food brand. The snack company wanted MrBeast to stop using the phrase “Deez Nutz” in promoting his candy bar as it sounded too similar to Dee’s Nuts owned by Brian Ditore. He founded the company more than a decade ago.

According to reports, the lawsuit by Dee’s and Ditore was originally filed way back in August 2023. The owner had accused MrBeast of trademark infringement by naming his brand’s peanut-butter bar ‘Deez Nutz.’

MrBeast had founded Feastables in January 2022. Within the first few months, the business generated a revenue of $10 million. However, it also ended up causing a stir online when, in March 2023, Jimmy asked his fans to clean up shelves of his brand’s chocolate bars in order to win $5,000. The move was criticized by a lot of people on social media.

All things considered, however, the decision from the court to order Feastables Inc. to stop using ‘Deez Nutz’ branding is perhaps a step backwards for MrBeast.

As of now, his company is “permanently enjoined from manufacturing, or causing to be manufactured, purchasing, importing, exporting, advertising, marketing, distributing, offering for sale, selling or commercially exploiting in any manner, snack foods bearing the Dee’s Nuts Mark, and/or reproductions, counterfeits, copies or colorable imitations thereof, including but not limited to, the DEEZ NUTZ mark,” as revealed by Business Insider. But it’s not the first time such an incident has occurred regarding his business ventures.

Before ‘Deez Nutz’, there was MrBeast Burger

In December 2020, MrBeast had introduced a virtual restaurant called MrBeast Burger. After seeing this business model thriving in the United States, the YouTuber eventually decided to bring Beast Burger offline. In 2022, he opened the first outlet for the brand in the American Dream Mall in New Jersey. The actual restaurant opened on September 4 last year.

However, it seemed like there was one thing even Jimmy didn’t have a control on – the quality checks. After initial success with Beast Burger, customers starting complaining about the burger’s poor quality and its taste. By June 2023, it was clear that this business was turning out to be quite controversial for the content creator.

Eventually, MrBeast decided to shut down MrBeast Burger in June.

He revealed that it was tough to guarantee a great quality while working with other restaurants. It was shocking to see Jimmy moving on from Beast Burger, as it had shared a whopping $100 million of revenue with other restaurants back in July 2022, within two years.

But it looks like Jimmy has made up his mind to not get caught up in anything controversial anymore. Maybe that’s the reason he didn’t challenge the order on Feastables’ “Deez Nutz” peanut butter bar. In the meantime, his focus will be on his upcoming content while he aims to overtake T-Series to become the most subscribed YouTuber channel.
