What if the makers of Grand Theft Auto and Netflix joined forces? When two juggernauts in the entertainment industry come together, you can expect big things. GTA is coming to Netflix games. But now, fans have something more in mind. Following the release of the record breaking GTA 6 trailer, the GTA fever is higher than ever. And now, fans want a sneak peek into the making of games at Rockstar Games.

How many game developers can you confidently say, know how to keep a franchise successfully going? Rockstar Games has cracked the formula. They did it with Red Dead Redemption and they did it with GTA. GTA V released in 2013 and continues to make waves even today. They’re still minting money with GTA online. And when they finally gave the world a first official look at GTA 6, they shattered the YouTube record for most views in 24 hours for a non-music video. Being one of the most talked about game developers, fans want to know how things work behind the scenes. And they believe Netflix could make this happen.

GTA 6, the most expensive entertainment product of all time, now has an official launch window. The game will release in 2025. So while fans have to wait another year, surely they wouldn’t mind other forms of GTA content to keep them busy. And the pitch is simple. Fans want to know what goes into the making of such monumental titles. A BTS tour of Rockstar Games as they create the biggest titles in the industry sounds like a perfect deal for Netflix!

A Twitter user made the suggestion, sparking discussions about the possibility. The user captioned the tweet, I wish Netflix and Rockstar would partner up to show what the behind the scenes looks like at Rockstar Games from day to day.”

Getting to know the secret sauce of Rockstar Games sounds like a fascinating idea. However, considering how the developers prefer secrecy throughout their project developments, this seems like a long shot. But if anyone could pull this off, it has to be Netflix as believed by the fans. If they can have documentaries on the scariest, most notorious serial killers, then surely they can find a way to make this happen.

Not a lot of fans might know BBC has one documentary already made on the working of Rockstar Games. Interestingly, the documentary is from the time the Studio was working on the first GTA game.

Obviously, the evolution of the company since then has been massive. So, a new refined office tour is the need of the hour!

Fans couldn’t agree more

The idea of a Netflix collaboration shared by the twitter user immediately went viral on the platform. Quite evidently, the community had the same desire. Let’s have a look at what the fans had to say.

A fan wants to see what it was like creating GTA 6 through a documentary on Netflix, similar to the Raising Kratos documentary. Raising Kratos is a documentary that came out in 2019, where SIE and Santa Monica Studio told the story of the making of God of War (2018), and the challenges in making so many changes to an already established, majorly successful series.

Another fan, who happens to be a game developer, stated they’re “intrigued into the development side of gaming more than the game iteself.”

Another GTA fan is ready to pay any amount for the collaboration.

On the contrary, this fan has another idea, an interesting one nonetheless. They want to see a “1990s style GTA San Andreas netflix series.”
