According to the viral claims across social media, GTA 6 might have used the ray-tracing global illumination technology for graphics along with RT reflection. The last Grand Theft Auto release, GTA V, also used RT reflection technology, but with the official glimpse, there’s a strong, evident evolution. Adding on, a lot of claims suggest Rockstar Games has also used Parallax Mapping for background settings.

For those unaware, ray tracing technology is a new-gen design style. A lighting method that gives video games an additional degree of realism. Compared to the static lighting used in most more conventional games, it simulates how light reflects and refracts in the actual world, creating a more realistic atmosphere.

The reason fans associated the trailer with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is because it adopted the technology as a default in gaming. Unarguably, this was a big step in technological advancements for gaming as irrespective of the graphical settings, the game functioned on ray tracing. “Our performance mode for this title has ray tracing on by default. We’ve really expanded ray-traced reflections throughout the game. It’s on the water and the oceans and really gives a more realistic picture everywhere,” the director of Insomnia stated in an interview.
