Armored Core 6 was FromSoftware’s surprise package of 2023 and it keeps getting better! The fighting adventure arrived in August to revive the Armored Core franchise. The sixth installment of the franchise brought a lot of veterans of the label back to the game. Being the next project from FromSoftware after GOTY Elden Ring, the game certainly came in with a lot of expectations. And now, they continue to deliver. The makers are now bringing a huge end-of-the-year surprise for the world of mecha-based combat saga. Yes, the highly-anticipated ranked matchmaking is coming.

In just days of its release, Armored Core 6 was able to overthrow The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, claiming the top spot in sales trends. Such was the revival of the franchise after a decade without any AC. Thus, the hype around the upcoming patch update is understandably high. Fortunately, players won’t have to wait too long for the experience. 

Armored Core 6 launching the ranked play in hours 

In the latest official announcement, the developers have confirmed the new patch update to be arriving on Tuesday. This means in just a few hours, players will be able to access ranked-based matchmaking. It was about time the game introduced PvP and what’s better than releasing it just before the holidays? 

The ranked online matching and ranked leaderboards included in patch 1.05 should hopefully breathe new life into Armored Core 6’s PvP feature. Along with increased customization through customized nameplates, pilots will now be able to battle on new PvP maps.

Besides the long-rooted matchmaking, the 1.05 patch notes will also be bringing some new innovations to the game. These include interesting multiplayer features and new parts to appeal to outfit upgrades. Apparently, the patch notes were subjected to a massive leak when all the details of the update were made public through a document. According to a leak earlier, there’s a lot to look forward to in the patch update. 

Everything to expect from the coming patch 

The 1.05 update brings with it a small selection of brand-new weapons and parts. These will be unlocked at various points during your first play-through, which means they will all be available upon updating the game if you’ve already played through the game at least once.
