Stellar Blade is going to be exclusive to PS5 and consequently, some players are not liking it. Especially, those who don’t own a console. Suppose some of the recent online reactions are anything to go by. In that case, it looks like the anticipated game may soon fade away due to its makers prioritizing a console-based launch rather than going for a multi-platform strategy.

For the uninitiated, Stellar Blade is being developed by Shift-Up. The Korean development studio is currently working on making the title as amazing as possible by turning it into a breathtaking experience. Unfortunately, all its efforts may not end up bringing much-needed revenue in terms of attracting a large number of consumers. This article will try to throw light on this exact situation.

A Reddit user recently shared a lengthy post while emphasizing the console exclusivity of Stellar Blade. The individual, by the name of 3wpo6_ on the social platform, tried to convey the perspective that the game would receive unwanted ignorance from many players because of the deal with Sony.

In their own words, “the exclusivity deal will make people forget about the game.” They wrote that games like Stellar Blade should be benefiting from “spectacular graphics and mod support” on PC but that’s “something the PS5 doesn’t have“. Per the Redditor, the game won’t offer the intended visual fidelity the way it’s supposed to have and is capable of.

Simply because consoles generally lag behind PCs in delivering top-tier performance on the most advanced graphical settings. The user mentioned that other titles such as Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, and Horizon benefit a lot from mod support on PC. Players can use various outfits for their chosen characters while investing more time in-game.

Additionally, one can alter weapons and their performance output through mods on a PC. However, doing so won’t be possible on a console (in this case PlayStation 5). “These guys (devs) were obviously blinded by a large looking sum, offered by sony,(or however the f**k these deals actually work) without the slightest idea of how successful their game would’ve become across all platforms”, read the post. The Redditor also claimed that Stellar Blade will be able to get only “upscaled 4K, average texture quality, no raytracing @30-60fps” on the console.

The entire explanation made by the user makes quite a lot of sense though. Consoles don’t offer the same level of customization as PCs do. Not just in terms of extending the graphical settings to an insane level, but also providing amazing mod support. Mods always make the overall gaming experience unique, thanks to different mod-creating communities, thus bringing in more players.
