Wolverine Will “Greatly Evolve”, Reveals Insomniac Games in the First Message After Massive PS5 Leak

In a show of strength, Insomniac Games have shared an encouraging message with their fans. The Spider-Man developer’s upcoming PS5 exclusive Wolverine got leaked along with over 1.67TB worth of sensitive data. Finally, the developer has now addressed this situation with a heartfelt message.
For the uninitiated, millions of game files were hacked and leaked online. Talking about the Wolverine title, the hackers had shared a lot of clips containing gameplay footage from an in-development version, including a playable build of the game. While the situation has been nothing short of unfortunate and painful, the devs are not backing down.

The PlayStation studio took to social media platform X on Friday to release a statement. Obviously, it was in response to the leaks regarding Wolverine. Insomniac Games called the massive hack “extremely distressing” while mentioning that the entire team is “saddened and angered about the recent criminal cyberattack.”

The leak seems to have taken an emotional toll on the entire developing team. “We have focused inwardly for the last several days to support each other”. Insomniac Games admitted that apart from the game-related intel, the leak also revealed personal information of various employees who are part of the studio.

“We are aware that the stolen data includes personal information belonging to our employees, former employees, and independent contractors. It also includes early development details about ‘Marvel’s Wolverine’ for PlayStation 5. We continue working quickly to determine what data was impacted,” read the message.
In the face of everything, the studio emphasized its goal of making Wolverine a great superhero title. Despite the leak, Insomniac Games is “resilient. ‘Marvel’s Wolverine’ continues as planned. The game is in early production and will no doubt greatly evolve throughout development, as do all our plans.”

Which means there might be some changes in the making of the game. The devs have stressed on ‘evolving throughout development.’ That can only convey one meaning – introducing new elements compared to how much the leaks have shown.
While concluding the message, Insomniac’s team thanked all the passionate fans for their continued support. “While we appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm we will share official information about ‘Marvel’s Wolverine’ when the time is right. On behalf of everyone at Insomniac, thank you for your ongoing support during this challenging time.”

The studio has promised to disclose a proper update on the development of the game when the time is right. Until then, fans will have to wait for the the next crucial announcement.
