miHoYo recently held a pre-patch live stream for Genshin Impact update 1.4 on March 5. The stream showcased a range of new events that will be added to the game with the next patch. It also shed light on the new Archon quest, possible new world boss Abyss Herald, and a new 4-star character Rosaria. Surprisingly, this patch will not add a new 5-star character into the game, which leaves Rosaria as the only new unit.

This fact alone has massively imploded the hype behind Rosaria, who is also a member of the Church of Favonius in Mondstadt. She is a nun much like Barbara, but unlike her compeers, has turned into a vampire which has forbidden her from setting foot on the holy premises.

Genshin Impact showcased Rosaria in the latest live stream

The new 4-star character will be added alongside the first Venti re-run banner in the game. Players also got to see the character in full display, as miHoYo showcased her entire kit of abilities. She is going to serve as a Cryo polearm, who can offer a massive amount of Cryo damage. She is majorly going to serve as a physical damage unit, who can slyly attack from behind. Any attack that she lands on the back will deal additional damage, which will effectively dictate her entire playstyle.

Her elemental skill (E) will allow her to apply an adequate amount of Cryo damage, while she teleports behind the mob. She excels at dealing high amount of physical damage, especially when attacked from behind the character, but she cannot teleport behind large opponents with her E.

Rosaria’s elemental burst (Q) will allow her to summon a single barrage of ice that can deal massive Cryo damage. It will apply damage two times on the target, the first instance when she summons the icicle and on the second instance, the icicle will deal damage over time after it impacts the surface. Her passive allows the entire party to run much faster during nighttime, making her a good unit for exploration.
