The Portland Classic concluded last Sunday, with Chanettee Wannasaen winning the title and a hefty payout. Her total score was 26-under par by the end of the four rounds. Now, before the game entered the fourth round, somebody else was topping the leaderboard, and that was LPGA star Megan Khang. But a series of unfortunate events led to the star golfer eventually finishing T6.

Now, her next target is the 2023 Solheim Cup which is taking place in Spain. As the entire world cheers for Khang’s next venture, a former Solheim Cup teammate, who had been a part of the USA team in the 2019 and 2021 editions, baffled the LPGA star with a small query. Let’s dive into the story.

The game of golf can be very unpredictable. Sometimes even one bad hole can undo all the good work of previous rounds. Megan Khang had a series of unfortunate events at the Columbia Edgewater Macan Course

 She was topping the leaderboard at 18-under par on Saturday. She looked good for the trophy the next day but in the last round, her putting skills faltered and she earned two bogeys. She had to leave Oregon with utter disappointment.

Now, she is flying to Spain to represent her country in this coveted Solheim Cup. She shared an update about the same from her Instagram profile. In the post, sharing a picture from the Portland Classic, she wrote, 📍𝙿𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙿𝚘𝚜𝚝𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚍 💌. 𝙽𝚎𝚡𝚝 𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚙…𝙴𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚗̃𝚊 🇪🇸#USA🇺🇸. 

She reflected on the fact that her next location is Finca Cortesin. Now, as this post went viral, several LPGA stars, including Jessica Korda, and fans voiced their support for her new venture on the greens of Andalucia.

As Khang updated about her next target, which is the Solheim Cup, Jessica Korda, and fans have posted their comments to encourage Megan for her next battle. Jessica Korda, sister of Nelly Korda, a participant in the upcoming event, made a 6-word query and said, “Is my postcard in the mail?”  Appears Khang now will have to do some work to satiate Jessica, if she hasn’t done it already. 

Some fans highlighted her performance in the Portland Classic. Another great showing Megan! You are playing well, keep up the great ball striking!said one, encouraging her to maintain her ball-striking in the upcoming biennial event.

Some more fans expressed their encouragement for the golfer. “You’re on a roll. Keep it going in Espana 🇪🇸,” said one. Another said: Let’s go Megan. Amazing year.
