John Daly, in recent years, has seen a lot of tough times. From not finding a lot of success on the course to suffering from injury after injury, the 57-year-old has arguably seen the inside of a hospital more than the greens of the course. However, despite all these tough times, his loyal fan base has stuck by him. And it seems like Long John now has a reward for them.
To the joy of his ever-supportive fan club, Daly’s recent announcement focuses not just on golf; it’s about connection, hope, and the enduring bond and relationship he shares with those who’ve cheered for him throughout his career!
John Daly warms his fans’ hearts despite his health hurdles

John Daly, during the initial stages of his career, was frequently under media scrutiny for his lavish lifestyle, marked by his dietary habits and his inclination for drinks and smoking, even while playing. These actions by Daly didn’t just catch the media’s eye; they also had a profound impact on his personal life.

Years of such a lifestyle eventually caught up with him, resulting in a bladder cancer diagnosis. In 2020, Daly had surgery for bladder cancer. On top of these health issues, Daly’s ongoing knee troubles posed another challenge. Though he had undergone knee surgeries previously, in December 2022 he had to go through yet another complete knee replacement. Despite all these tough times, the golf great never once forgot his fans, keeping them in the loop with health updates and more through social media.
And now, yet again, he’s thinking about the fans. However, this time it’s not a health update, but a treat of sorts! Long John has collaborated with the Birdie Fans Club and shared the news on social media. He started with, To all the beautiful fans out there, I would like to meet you.” He further shared how fans can join the Birdie Fan Club and might get a chance to meet him. Daly added, “Maybe we can meet up sometime.”

He concluded the video by saying, “Grip it—rip it [or] grip it—sip it!” And fans wanted exactly that with him—to have a drink or play a round! Flooding the post, they showered Daly with love and made it known that, come what may, they were going to stand by him!
Fans flaunt Daly’s unbreakable bond with them
This post received a huge response from fans all around the globe. One stated, “You are the best. I met you at the Sports Authority expo back in 2008 or 2009 and you gave me an autographed photo and signed a beer bottle. You said I was your long-lost brother. Thank you again.”
