After four rounds of a neck-to-neck competition at the Valspar Championship, the tournament ended with a stunning conclusion. Taylor Moore’s 67 in the final round ensured a win for him at the Copperhead Golf Course. While the PGA Tour pro’s first win should have been the talk of the town this morning, it was his awkward hug with his fiancee that caught the eyes of the golf world.
Moore surprised many with his incredible performance on Sunday. Ahead of the final round, Jordan Spieth, Adam Schenk, and Tommy Fleetwood were among the names on the top of the leaderboard. However, all three men choked plenty of birdie opportunities, giving Taylor his first PGA Tour win in 46 starts.
Following his $1,458,000 win, Moore was greeted by his caddie and his fiancee Lexi Sorensen. However, the hug from his soon-to-be wife didn’t go as planned.

Golf world reacts to a ‘bizarre’ hug between a PGA Tour pro and his fiance
Taylor Moore earned the PGA Tour card back in 2016. Two years after turning pro, the golfer had a collapsed lung. Nonetheless, after years of struggles, Moore finally bagged his maiden win with a total score of 10 under par. After being announced as the Valspar Championship winner, the Texas-born golfer went to hug his fiance Lexi.

However, as Moore embraced his long-time partner, he asked her, “Are you happy?”. But Sorensen didn’t respond anything to the golfer as she then hugged him in an awkward manner. Following the incident, golf fans on Twitter and Reddit reacted to Taylor’s embarrassing hug rather than his triumph at Copperhead Golf Course.

Nonetheless, few fans defended Taylor Moore and his future wife. While the incident on camera may have been awkward, it could be due to Lexi Sorensen’s camera shyness. Many fans supported her by writing, “She seemed super uncomfortable with the cameras“, while another fan added, “Maybe she doesn’t wanna be on TV”.
As Taylor Moore is heading to Augusta National next month for the Masters, one fan even claimed Lexi would love it at the legendary venue. “She’ll enjoy Augusta. Guaranteed”, the fan wrote. Regardless of what the fans think about Moore and his fiance, the upcoming days will be filled with enjoyment for the couple, thanks to the golfer’s big win and their upcoming wedding.
