Annika Sorenstam has spread her wings beyond golf
The official Twitter handle of the Golf Channel has posted an update about the female GOAT golfer. Coming Sunday, Sorenstam’s decal will be sported on car number 26 at St. Petersburg. Colton Herta, the driver of the car in question, has agreed to showcase the golfer’s decal on his car while he races and aces. However, the female pro herself shared the news of this collaboration on her Instagram story.

‘ANNIKA’ is the celebration of the growth and development of women in the sports world. She prompted her followers to “follow along” with the celebration. In the next story, she revealed the news and wrote, “ANNIKA will give the official command as the Grand Marshal of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.” She then expressed her gratitude and revealed why it was an honor for her. In an interview, the Hall of Fame golfer expressed her happiness and said, “I’m excited to be the grand marshal of the first INDYCAR race of the year in St. Petersburg to help kick off both the racing season and Women’s History Month.” Becoming a grand marshal is a massive achievement for her and all the women she represents. However, entertainer and TV/film actor Trace Adkins will also be part of the Grand Prix. He will sing the National Anthem while two F-16 Fighting Falcons from Homestead Air Reserve Base fly over the track.
Sorenstam is all about the growth of women
It was not the first time the pro golfer had taken a step for women. In 2007, she started a foundation, ANNIKA. She wanted women to understand the importance of health and nutrition. And recently, she shared her foundation’s achievements. They raised $130,000. This year has brought some significant developments with it. However, it is just the beginning; more great things must be on the way.
