Rickie Fowler has once again proven that he is a true ace. While golfing with Justin Thomas and the group at the famous Pine Valley Golf Course recently, the former poster boy shot an awe-striking hole-in-one. It happened at the southern New Jersey’s GC’s third hope, a rather ideal place to shoot the highly coveted ace.

The 35-year-old deployed a 7-iron from 182 yards to make his dream come true on the luscious greens of Pine Valley. Interestingly, this is not Fowler’s very first ace. In fact, he has scored a total of three hole-in-ones since turning pro in 2009, the most recent of which came at the final round of the world-famous 2023 WM Phoenix Open.

It is considered relatively easy to score an ace from the third hole at the Pine Valley GC as the elevated tee box proves advantageous in estimating such near-perfect shots. As soon as Fowler shot the ace, one of his group members was seen climbing on his back in excitement. Many fans have estimated this to be an enthusiastic Justin Thomas.

As the group shared their decent celebrations with the rest of the golf world, a myriad of different opinions came to light. While some congratulated the star pro for his shot, others quickly stepped up to contextualize the shot and possibly tone down the celebratory wave.

Fans react to Rickie Fowler’s ace at Pine Valley GC

One fan wrote, Best performance in the least important of contests, hopefully it can translate to some success on tour!” Even though fans acknowledged Fowler’s efforts, they were quick to humble his achievement, highlighting how it was not one of the more critical events on the Tour and how increased efforts and a killer performance would not fetch him career points. However, they also wished the same luck to continue in the PGA Tour pro’s life professionally.

Another netizen quickly remarked, Easy track,” thus adding themselves to the list of unimpressed fans. They highlighted how, in comparison to other courses, for instance, the Augusta National Golf Course, the Pine Valley GC, is not as difficult.

One X user cautioned, Ya can’t jump on his back like that, bro! Great shot btw. While this fan was one of the few people who did not dismiss the achievements of the 2024 Masters Par-3 context jinx holder, they did critique his excited companion from the viral video. The fan’s concern revolved primarily around Fowler’s back, as they carefully warned his companion not to jump on his back.

A fan quickly put on their critical hat and wrote, “Easy pin placement if you have ever played at PV. On a scale of difficulty, it gets a 1.3 out of 10. On a scale of who and where it happened… 8.9” This golf enthusiast pointed out how the pin placement was easy in terms of the course standards. They also did not regard this feat as complicated and dismissed the so-called achievement. However, they were quick to possibly use sarcasm and highlight how the hole-in-one becomes special because Fowler shot it.
