The 25-year-old has troubled by her lower back for a long time. In 2020, the Florida native missed nine weeks on the Tour because of the backpain. In 2023 too, she withdrew from the Mizuho Open because of a back injury. The golfer has always power through her injuries, and has come back stronger.
Her long break after her first win of the 2024 season gave her just what she needed after a winless 2023, a little push! Interestingly, the event Nelly is going to participate in has received a new name from this year!

Last year, the Palos Verdes event, the DIO Implant LA Open, was renamed the 2024 Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship. The seventh edition of the event has been renamed to honor Se Ri Pak, perhaps the most famous South Korean golfer of all time. Additionally, LPGA pioneer Se Ri Pak will return to the Tour in 2024, joining Annika Sorenstam and Michelle Wie West as tournament hosts.
The 46-year-old player retired from the Tour in 2016 and had a career that completely transformed women’s golf. As a female golfer, Pak won two majors in 1998, including the U.S. Women’s Open at Blackwolf Run, which inspired generations of South Koreans to follow in her footsteps. She won 25 times on the LPGA and amassed 39 titles worldwide.
