The landscape of sports is an ever-evolving field with various athletes gracing their presence in different games. Golf, especially, has been found fascinating by many who are from outside the golf world. And a similar thing happened as LPGA pro Leona Maguire took to the greens a while back.

This time, Maguire turned coach for an athlete from another sport as they enjoyed a game of golf on the course. Moreover, the golfer tried to lure the player into the gentleman’s game as she helped out the hockey player with her rounds leaving many surprised and curious.

The Davy Group saw two of its ambassadors pick up a club to play a game of golf with each other at the Grange Golf Course. The game saw Leona Maguire showing off her skills and guiding fellow athlete Hanna McLoughlin in a bid to support young Irish athletes as part of an initiative by the group.

The duo started off with a small chat as they engaged in a playful banter ahead of the match. The Irish professional golfer went ahead to say, “To be fair, hockey players and camogie players usually translate well into golf” as she sported high expectations for the hockey player before the start of the round. But what’s more, Maguire turned to become a part-time caddie for the day as she carried both the player’s clubs in a stroller throughout the course.

McLoughlin listened to the instructions from the professional as she started her round by checking the wind using the grass. Although the Olympic athlete missed a few drives, the golfer-cum-coach was patient with her throughout the match resulting in the former making a successful putt at the end. Moreover, Leona made sure to coax Hannah into the sport as she said, “Reckon you have a future in golf,” before expressing her desire to play a game of Hockey as well in the future.

The duo had a lot of fun on the course as they chatted with each other while engaging in a game of golf. Moreover, Maguire turned out to be as good a coach as a player as she helped her hockey counterpart putt a hole in the greens. But enough of that now, let us take a look at Leona’s LPGA career.
