Nelly Korda seems to be only getting better ever since her return from the injury. The LGPA Tour is currently prepping for the final Major of the LPGA Tour season. Despite most golfers considering the Links-styled golf course a challenge, Korda recently revealed her love for the Scottish-origin course, making her a favorite to win the upcoming event.

The venue of the event, Muirfield, is a legendary golf course. The Edinburgh-based course is also used as a rotation for the Men’s Open Championship. The grass of the course consists of Links that are commonly found in Scottish golf courses.

Nelly Korda doesn’t mind Links Golf

Links golf presents two distinct obstacles. Firstly, the actual layout of the courses is frequently marked by crooked fairways, dense underbrush, and diminutive, deep “pot bunkers.” Second, many links courses are typically windy because of their seaside position. With only a few days left before the Major, many golfers shared their thoughts on the Links Golf.

Despite its high challenging complication, Korda seemed to love the Links Golf. She said, “I enjoy playing Links golf because it’s so fun. You use so much of a different type of creativity in Links golf. Every single time I do come over, I try to soak it all up.”

Nelly Korda’s last Major win came only a year ago. The 24-year-old has been finishing close to winning several Majors since but failed to get a win. But now declaring her comfort with the Links golf, the Olympic Gold Medalist must be considered a favorite.

Her fellow LGPA Tour star, Brooke Henderson, also shared her admiration for the Muirfield Golf Club and labeled it as her favorite Links Course. “I think it’s maybe my favourite links that I’ve ever played,” said the Canadian. “I’m really excited to tee it up on Thursday.”

Muirfield will host its first Woman’s British Open. The course will be set out similarly for the Women’s Open as the Men’s Open Championship. The fairway dimensions won’t be altered. The Stimpmeter reading for the greens will range from 9 to 10.5 points. And it will be between 6,600 and 6,700 yards long.
