The global launch of the highly anticipated Netflix documentary series on golf, “The Full Swing,” got released today. With behind-the-scenes access to all four of the men’s majors, Full Swing is said to be a must-watch for golf enthusiasts and non-golf fans alike. However, the first episode of the series has received a lot of criticism from both critics and fans. The previews of all eight episodes, along with their names, had already been released, leaving the fans all excited. The Americans were given early access to the first episode of the season. However, the official date for the release was February 15.

Netflix promised viewers a journey through the crazy years of golf, as well as a look at the rivalry between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. The first episode shed light on Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas‘ dynamic friendship as childhood best friends. The two also happen to be fierce rivals on the PGA Tour. With a disappointing start, fans might be confused as to what should be expected from the second episode of the series.

Netflix cleverly gave early access to Americans by including a QR code in the Michelob Ultra Super Bowl advertisement. However, the streaming platform later took to its social media handles to spread its accessibility. However, before delving into what’s to come, it’s important to address the first episode’s criticism. Netflix’s early access to the first episode of Full Swing in the United States ahead of its global launch seems to have massively backfired. Clearly, the response was not what the streaming giant had expected.

Some viewers felt that the episode lacked substance, with too much focus on the personal lives of Spieth and Thomas, rather than the behind-the-scenes world of golf. Some also felt that the episode did not adequately address some of the more pressing issues facing the sport. An article in Golf Monthly said that the main cast includes Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Mike Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Michael Greller, Sean Foley, Amanda Renner, Dan Rapaport, and Dylan Dethier. Nonetheless, with episode 2 on the horizon, we hope to see the series fulfill its potential.

What to expect from episode 2 of Full Swing

The second episode will be shorter than the first, with a focus on Brooks Koepka. It is expected to shed light on his on-course struggles, followed by injuries and bad form. Moreover, the episode promises a fascinating insight into the mindset of a golfer struggling to get back in form. The whole episode will revolve around how the four-time Major winner, Brooks Koepka, is fighting to reclaim his position in the sport.

The next part of the episode introduces Scottie Scheffler, whose story will be in complete contrast with Koepka’s, where he will be seen quickly climbing up the stairs of success. The whole episode will revolve around two main championships: the WM Phoenix Open and the Masters. In the frame will be Brooks Koepka, Jena Sims, Scottie Scheffler, Meredith Scudder, Amanda Renner, Dan Rapaport, Dylan Dethier, and Sean Foley.

Clearly, the previews seem to be living up to the expectations of the fans, but the same is not true for the episodes. What is your opinion on the matter? Drop your thoughts in our comment section below.
