The Professional Long Drivers Association World Championships is ready for another edition in Mesquite, Nevada. The PLDA World Championships provide an entertaining few days for fans who love Long Drive events. This time, along with favorites like Kyle Berkshire, PGA Tour star Bryson DeChambeau will also be making his debut.

The event will be held at the Mesquite Sports and Event Complex located in Nevada. The venue has five full-size soccer fields which are often used for more than just one sport.

The complex also has a concession stand, along with pavilions, a playground, and a large vendor booth. However, if one wants, people visiting can also participate in various other activities like archery, golf club demo days, and much more.

Golf wise, Mesquite itself offers plenty of courses. There are three different golf courses, along with five different golf clubs. Naturally, every course and club will offer different perks and amenities to those interested.

Additionally, amateurs can also enter Open Division competitions, with a $600 entry fee. However, if one does play as an amateur, prizes and other perks will be decided as per USGA Guidelines.

What is the format for the PLDA World Championship?

That being said, the PLDA World Championship is also meant to bring together the top hitters of the world. This is the final stage for a title, which has an Open Category. Hitters are placed into groups of 16 players, where they play in a round-robin format of five sets. Whoever finishes at the top advances to the next round. In the end, there is a face-off between the top two to decide upon a World Champion.

Last year, it was Berkshire who won the PLDA World Championships and will look to earn a consecutive title for himself. Of course, DeChambeau will be a tough competitor for the reigning world champion.
“You can never guarantee a win, but I feel very confident about my chances,” Berkshire said ahead of the event. “I feel like I’ve done pretty much everything I can to prepare myself to have the best chance of a positive outcome”.
Let’s take a look at the prize pool for the Open Division.
