Tiger Woods devotee Paige Spiranac makes an honest confession about caddie squabble at Ryder Cup

Paige Spiranac has a huge following on her social media handles. But she herself is a follower of Tiger Woods’ golf. And isn’t that obvious? In August, she even shared her fan moment experience in a Q&A session on Instagram.

She revealed that they both met at a charity event, and the diva had anxious jitters while she approached the fifteen-time major winner. Recently, she’s started shedding her opinion about one of the former close associates of Tiger. The person is his caddie, Joe LaCava, who had been in Woods’ bag for a long time until he decided to support Patrick Cantlay as a caddie. 

Recently, LaCava got engaged in a nasty fight with Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry. Though the incident wasn’t that grave, the Irishman was infuriated with the caddie’s behavior. Paige finally joined a golf podcast and expressed her opinion on the same. 

She said, “A caddy should never really interfere as much as Joe did. But you got to think about this way. Patrick Cantlay was getting shit for about six hours straight. And it was a lot and his role is to protect his player…And most caddies, their job is highly underrated”. Spiranac highlighted the fact that a caddie’s job is to shield the player.

She further continued, “And that’s his man. And I think he was just defending his guy and got a little bit too heated and he should have backed away a little bit sooner that was on Joe. But I thought Rory acted a little bit like a baby”. This is not the first time Paige has vocalized about this bicker.

During Saturday’s fourballs, the game on both sides was going neck to neck. In the last match, Patrick Cantlay was paired with Wyndham Clark against Rory McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick. There, Cantlay made an exceptional putt to make it 3-1 in the four balls. As the moment took place, American fans went gaga. And bagman Joe LaCava was no exception to it.

But perhaps the gesture offended Rory, and both had a hot-lip argument. Later, as the incident came to the attention of Paige Spiranac, she took the side of the caddie and said, “Joe LaCava’s one of the best around. Cantlay was put through the wringer for the entire round so I don’t blame Joe for being passionate about his player/job.” Paige Spiranac seemed to be compassionate with the bagman job.
