Old habits do die hard! This statement was proven true by Tiger Woods today. The 48-year-old is currently competing in the 2024 Genesis Invitational. He is the center of attention at this event and is trying to leverage this position to promote his new brand, Sun Day Red.

This new brand is the replacement of Nike with whom he shared 27 years. But despite their split and a new brand to promote, the American golfer was once again spotted with Nike. This has left many wondering if his new brand missed one ideal opportunity.

The second round of the 2024 Genesis Invitational is well underway. Tiger Woods, alongside other prominent names, is fighting to cut for the weekend rounds of the signature event. However, the 48-year-old is also giving his fans new glimpses of Sun Day Red apparel. During the second round, he was donning a red, blue, and white-striped polo tee with blue pants. But completing the look were Nike socks!

Woods was spotted wearing Nike again, despite their split. Furthermore, this has led to speculation online as to why the legendary golfer is opting for Nike. On the official website of Sun Day Red, the clothing brand shows an absence of socks available. The site only showcases tees, hoodies, pants, and shoes, which the golfer has already worn at the PGA Tour event.

So it looks like the 48-year-old’s new brand missed the opportunity to make socks. Thus, his reliance on Nike again. But maybe down the line, they will also make socks, which the legendary golfer will approve of. While Tiger Woods wore Nike socks at Riviera, he does not want to be associated with them anymore.

The 48-year-old has ‘moved on’ from Nike

During the press conference for the 2024 Genesis Invitational, Woods cleared his stance against Nike. He said he has moved on from the iconic TW logo for the clothing brand. “I don’t want it back. I’ve moved on,” said the 48-year-old.

He called starting Sun Day Red “a transition in his life,” which he would not want to break by going back. The 48-year-old claimed he is solely focusing on his new brand now. A lot of thought has gone into Sun Day Red. Like its logo, it is a white leaping tiger with 15 stripes, marking the 15 major wins of Woods. Furthermore, it also has designs that represent the past fashion choices of the 48-year-old.

The new brand, however, has failed to make its mark on the golf community. People have outright called the logo and design ugly, hoping the American golfer will bring in new ones. But his getting spotted alongside Nike overshadows the reputation his brand is trying to build.
