The American Express winner Jon Rahm has become a fan of the former professional footballer. Gareth Bale impressed Rahm with his golfing skills in a pro-am. After announcing his retirement from soccer, Bale confirmed he would compete in the PGA Tour’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am just a week later. Before that, he played in the pro-am before this week’s Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines against Jon Rahm.

The Memorial Tournament winner was so impressed by Bale that he made some suggestions. According to him, even with a handicap of 2, the former soccer player was only likely to improve. Bale got two strokes, although Rahm believes it was wrong. According to the Spaniard, Bale was a skilled player. Thus, he ought to be returning strokes to the other amateurs.

The PGA tour also highlighted the words of appreciation from the golfer for the former soccer player. The former number-one golfer could not comprehend Bale’s skills as an athlete. He pointed out the unfairness, although he was pleased by his golfing skills.
