The governing body of golf, R&A, has taken a big step towards cultivating the popularity of golf among common people by announcing a new digital platform.

The initiative is backed by singer Niall Horan, who is also the R & A ambassador, and footballer Gareth Bale, who recently retired from club and international football at the age of 33.

R&A’s new virtual attempt to promote golf among all

During an event held at the R&A World Golf Museum in St Andrews, the new initiative Golf.Golf was announced. The program is similar for adults and kids. It could be used by any prospective player who wishes to learn or rejoin the sport and could easily place their local venue and book sessions directly. It is a digital platform that will provide a list of all participating venues that can be searched easily

The main objective of the program is to attract more people to golf, especially those who have already a lingering interest in this sport.

In the program one-to-one coaching by professionals will be available to make the learning process easier and volunteers will also be present to assist. The initiative is supported by other R&A development ambassadors like Michelle Wie West as well. Starting from Scotland it is planned to pan on a global level to attract audiences from all corners of the world.

Former footballer Gareth Bale and Niall Horan back the new initiative of R&A

The former footballer who has played for Southampton, Tottenham, and Real Madrid, shocked everyone by announcing his retirement earlier this year. However, he is currently busy performing his duty as the global ambassador for the R&A and is backing this initiative of the golf body.

Niall on the other hand, is an avid golf fan and his association with golf is a long one. He said about the initiative “Next to making music, golf is a huge passion of mine, which is why I want to inspire people from all walks of life to give it a try. By supporting Golf.Golf and The R&A’s work to inspire more people to get involved in the game.”
