When Pat Beverley fouled out of the game between Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, no wonder Russell Westbrook hardly hesitated to wave goodbye. Such has been their rivalry. The rivalry which started in 2013 with the former swiping the opponent’s knee in an attempt to steal, still seems to carry the same feel to it six years on.

Westbrook, who scored 17 points in the 30 minutes that he featured, took one more opportunity to take take a dig at his old foe in new colours.

“Pat Bev trick y’all, man, like he playing defense. He don’t guard nobody, man. He just running around, doing nothing,” Westbrook said as per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Beverley, who has rarely backed off, did not seem to be wanting to be involved this time.

“Don’t start that, don’t start that. I don’t care about that,” he said when asked about Westbrook’s comments on him.

When Beverley was fouled out, the Rockets had a two points lead. They eventually went onto win the game 102-93. James Harden stole the show with 47 points for the Rockets.

For the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, but wasn’t enough for his team in the end.
