Shroud to take part in VCT Challengers tournament

Recently, some rumors surfaced on the internet about Shroud returning to the pro scene. During the stream of Twitch creator Dicey, fans noticed a plan for the formation of a squad involving Shroud. The team included ShawnBM, and Michael’s former teammates in n0thing and Seangares. Many fans suggested that it will be the arrival of the Old Guys Club in Valorant.

Since then, fans have known little about this venture, and many thought it wouldn’t be possible. However, Michael confirmed his entry in the NA Challengers tournament while reacting to G2 vs Astralis semi-finals bout during IEM Cologne 2021. Shroud is currently the official streaming partner for the high-stakes CSGO tournament.

“I am playing in the VCT. That will be kind of fun.”

Shroud in a later stream explained that he doesn’t have a full squad yet to compete in the tournament. He mentioned that he only had two teammates right now including streamer ShawnBM and his former Cloud 9 teammate in n0thing. He also said that they had a discussion about inviting Tarik as well, but then it never materialized.

“Team? I don’t know. It’s just me, Shawn and Jordan. Not Seangares, ShawnBM.”

It will be interesting to see how Shroud will fare against some of the best Valorant players in the world. He has become widely popular as one of the best streamers for the game. But, fans are still in the dark about his skills against professional players.
