Instead of sympathizing with Amouranth and Indiefoxx, Pokimane feels bad for ‘genuine’ ASMR creators. She has herself created ASMR content during the initial days of her career and naturally understands the hard work required to stream under this category.

Back in 2019, Pokimane did her last ASMR video on the popular poki ASMR channel. Even though fans absolutely loved her exploring this genre, the streamer could not continue it for long because it cost too much time and effort. Pokimane strongly believes that legitimate ASMR streamers on Twitch aren’t getting the recognition they deserve. Unfortunately, big names have hijacked the category who do not even put in the desired effort.

“When people come into your category, and get to the top of it by doing the splits with their but*s out, and like gurgling. I just feel bad for them, it sucks, it’s unfortunate and I feel that it doesn’t do them justice. It doesn’t do the category justice.”

Twitch banning Amouranth and Indiefoxx is a ray of hope for millions of people who admire and create ASMR content. From the looks of it, the platform is finally paying attention to the content it hosts and is accordingly taking action on the streamers. This will definitely increase the possibility for actual talent to grow and reach larger audiences.
