The German star Alexander Zverev hasn’t really had a good time as of late. Sascha has seen the worst period of his career during the last month where his emotional breakdowns became a consistent occurence.
Most importantly his unforced errors became a pain to watch for his fans and even neutral observes who sympathize with the talent of the young star. He lost all three matches for his team at the ATP cup against Alex De Minaur, Denis Shapovalov and Stefanos Tsitsipas respectively.
All his fans are hoping for a strong comeback from Sascha and are also curious about what’s going on in his head.
Finally, Zverev has revealed his plans for the future.
Zverev said that he needs to get his old self back. The star who was seen as the logical successor to the Big 3.
“I need to get my tennis back, because how I was playing at the ATP Cup was just not enough to do well. I know that, my team knows that. All I’ve been thinking about is basically how to practice, how to prepare myself. There’s nothing else that really matters.”
Zverev will next be seen competing at the Australian Open where he faces the Italian player Marco Cecchinato in the very first round. Tennis pundits have already counted him out of title contention just by the courtesy of his abysmal performance.
Since the German star scored a number of double fauls, questions have also been raised on whether he’s completely ready to compete at the first grand slam of the year. There’s no doubt that some time off the court will definitely benefit him.
Do you think Zverev should have missed out the Australian Open keeping the longer run in mind?
