ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Kohli Picks Faf As Skippers Choose Their Dream Player

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is upon us as all the ten teams are assimilating themselves and getting used to the English conditions. While the Captains are ready to lead their teams, they also talked to media before starting their campaign for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

All the captains were present at the official interaction with the media, where they answered all the questions from them. They were asked many interesting questions about their preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. One of the interesting questions asked them was to select a dream player for their team.

The media asked the skippers of all the ten teams participating at the world cup, “if you could pick one player from another team for your side, who would you pick?”

English Captain, Eoin Morgan did not choose a player for his team but instead, he chose a coach for England. Morgan opted for Ricky Ponting as a coach for his team. Ricky Ponting is currently working with the Australian Team as a consultant. He has also worked with the Mumbai Indians previously and Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2019.

Team India skipper, Virat Kohli picked South African Captain Faf du Plessis for his team. Faf du Plessis has been very impressive in the past two years. He has fared well in the IPL as well

 

Sarfaraz Ahmed, captain of Pakistani Team picked English wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler on his side. Buttler is in the best of the forms in the 2019 season with a spectacular IPL season and ODI series against Pakistan.

Interesting Faf du Plessis selected the best three bowlers currently. He picked Jasprit Bumrah, Rashid Khan and Pat Cummins in his team. While Bangladeshi Captain, Mashrafe Mortaza opted for his counterpart captain Virat Kohli in his team. Virat Kohli is certainly the best batsmen in the world and any captain would like to have him in his team.

Aaron Finch, the captain of Australia chose the South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada. Australia is missing on a strike bowler in their team and Rabada can certainly fill their void.

Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne choose to have Ben Stokes as his dream player as the team lacks an all-rounder in their team. while Kane Williamson chose Rashid Khan as New Zealand does not have a quality wicket-taking spinner.

While there were two captains who gave some diplomatic answer to the question. Caribbean Captain Jason Holder said that he was happy with his team. While Afghani captain Gulbadin Naib said that it depends on the day and the conditions.

It will be interesting to see which team will perform better than the others and conquer the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 title.
