Match 22 of ICC Cricket World Cup will be seen the battle between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan at Old Trafford. While India won two out of their three games so far, having one washed out, Pakistan won a single game in their four matches so far, having mere three points. Though India are considered as a favourite in the tournament, Pakistan can be a hurdle in their way of winning. Moreover, who can forget the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy Final where Pakistan dismantled India and won the trophy.

Team News

India’s in-form opener Shikhar Dhawan will not be featured in the game due to hairline injury in the left thumb. KL Rahul will likely open the innings with Rohit Sharma. Either Dinesh Karthik or Vijay Shankar would get a chance in the playing XI. On the other hand, no injury scare in Pakistan’s den.

Weather and pitch report

Already a couple of matches have been washed out due to rain, including India’s last encounter against New Zealand and Pakistan’s game against Sri Lanka. However, there is also a threat of rain tomorrow as well. It was raining on the eve of the game and if the weather remains the same, India could bring in Mohammed Shami for Kuldeep Yadav.

H2H record

Both the teams have met 6 times in the history of ICC World Cup where India registered convincing wins every time. That clearly shows India’s dominance over Pakistan in the tournament.

Wicketkeeper

In the Dream 11 team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match, there is no one better than former India captain MS Dhoni for the choice of wicketkeeper, keeping his current form in mind. He has already scored two quickfire innings and has been among runs.

Batsmen

Five batsmen have been selected on this Dream 11 team, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam. Kohli has already scored a fifty in this tournament while KL has played well stable innings in the middle order for India. On the other hand, Imam and Babar both have scored the fifties earlier in the tournament and Zaman too has the ability to score big.

All-rounders

The Dream 11 team also consists of two all-rounders, named Mohammad Hafeez and Hardik Pandya. Hafeez has been in formidable form both with bat and ball while Hardik Pandya can win the game for India with the bat. He recently played a blistering knock against Australia. However, he needs to be more economical with the ball. Both can be the game changer for their respective sides.

Bowlers

Three bowlers have been named in the Dream 11 team, Yuzvendra Chahal, Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali. While Chahal picked up a 4-wicket haul in their first game against South Africa, Riaz has taken wickets so far. Not only this, he plays crucial knocks every time in the lower order. After all, who can forget his fighting 39-ball 45 against Australia? Though Hasan Ali failed to impress with the ball so far, his quickfire 32 off 15 was quite impressive against the defending champion Australia.
