Bangladesh received another injury concern as their spinner Mehidy Hasan got hit on the head during their practice session on Sunday in Southampton. Though the youngster is out of danger, his concussion reports haven’t come yet.

The incidents, however, took place when Sabbir Rahman was batting in the nets and he hit a lofted shot against Mashrafe Mortaza’s ball and it directly hit the side of Mehidy Hasan’s head. He was waiting for his turn to bat in the nets, padded up.

He, however, was giving an interview as well on the sidelines at the same time. After being struck, he fell down. This situation made everyone tensed and left the team worried also. However, the situation didn’t stay as long as the spinner recovered soon after their physio Thian Chandra Mohan and media manager Rabeed Imam arrived the place.

”Mehidy apparently wanted to continue batting in the nets but was not allowed to,” Rabeed Imam, the media manager of BCB, said to the reporters.

Bangladesh, however, are already dealing with a couple of injury concerns where Mohammad Saifuddin and Mosaddek Hossain weren’t featured in the last game against Australia due to a back spasm and shoulder injury respectively. Along with them, Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal and Mashrafe Mortaza are also suffering injuries as well.

”He [Mehidy] was hit by a ball but as far as I know he is fine at the moment,” shared the head coach Steve Rhodes where he added that the rest can be confirmed after the outcome of the physio report which will come after the physio assessed the 21-year-old spinner.

Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan on Monday at The Rose Bowl, Southampton where they need to win the game to keep the hope alive of their qualification for the semi-finals.
