During the second day of the ongoing second Test between India and South Africa in Pune, South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada and wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock were seen getting engaged in a heated exchange while Indian captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja ran an overthrow.
It took place on the first delivery of the 123rd over when Jadeja defended a delivery of Rabada back to him. Rabada, who casually threw the ball back to Quinton de Kock which wasn’t collected by him as it was a wayward throw.
As the batsman wasn’t not attempting for a run, de Kock didn’t even pay attention when the throw came his way. Just as Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja ran for a single, Rabada lost his cool and received similar gestures from the wicket-keeper as well. South Africa captain Faf du Plessis was seen talking to Rabada after he finished his 29th over.
South Africa had a tough day in the middle at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Having only dismissed India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane (59) since morning, South Africa bowlers failed to stop Virat Kohli who scored his seventh Test double century.
At the time of writing this article, India have declared at 601 for 5 and South Africa lost three quick wickets at 36, including Umesh Yadav’s two before the stump of the second day.
Ayikho lento, Rabada not happy with De Kock, but why was he throwing the ball to the keeper? https://t.co/6yrhU08tcN
