Ind vs SL 2020, WATCH: Kusal Perera’s Reverse Sweep off Kuldeep Yadav

Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Perera pulled off a reverse sweep against Kuldeep Yadav during the second T20I of the India vs Sri Lanka series at the Hokar Stadium, Indore.
Having been asked to bat first Kusal Perera came in to bat in the fifth over after Avishka Fernando’s dismissal.
After a decent start to his innings, Pererapulled managed to hit a reverse sweep for six off Kuldeep Yadav. To a ball of shortish length, Perera slapped the ball over the fence behind square on the off-side.

A video of the shot was obtained fro bcci.tv.
It was, however, in the very next ball he was dismissed. Kuldeep came back in a typical fashion. He flighted the ball as Perera went for another hit, but couldn’t time it.
Shikhar Dhawan completed the catch at long-off to dismiss Kusal Perera.
A comfortable victory for India

Nobody really got going for Sri Lanka after Perera was dismissed for 34 and Sri Lanka finished at 142 for nine after their 20 overs. While Kuldeep Yadav picked two wickets, Shardul Thakur ended with three in his last over.
Navdeep Siani also took two wickets, one of which was off a fast yorker, and Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah finished with one each.

India, in the end, had a comfortable victory with over three overs to spare. It was largely due to good bowling performances, and captain Virat Kohli was glad of the bowling options that he had.

“Navdeep has come into the ODI circuit as well, he is gaining more confidence in T20 cricket. You can really see him letting himself go. When he does that, he can clock those speeds which he did. It’s great to see him getting people out with yorkers and bouncers and with pace,” Kohli said in the post-match presentation.
“You’ll have to figure out who are the people that are very similar in their bowling skills, and you pick the senior one.”
