New Zealand

New Zealand batsmen showed great intent in the first game where both the openers showed their calibre. Colin Munro scored a 42-ball 59 with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Kane Williamson and veteran batsman Ross Taylor were no less. While Williamson smashed a 26-ball 51 with 4 fours and as many sixes, Taylor’s blitzy 54* off 27 posted a huge total of 203 on the board. Although that went in vain as India registered a comfortable win in the game.

New Zealand bowlers failed to put up a good show where Mitchell Santner gave away most runs. He finished with the figures of 4-0-50-1. Ish Sodhi was the pick of the bowlers who had a figure of 4-0-36-2. Scott Kuggeleijn has a chance to come in the playing XI. Bowlers will try to do better in a high-scoring venue like the Eden Park in Auckland.
