India vs Bangladesh: Shivam Dube Earns Call-up as India Rest Virat Kohli for T20Is against Bangladesh

India announce their squad for the upcoming home series against Bangladesh. Skipper Virat Kohli is rested from the T20I squad as it was being speculated. 26-year old Mumbai batsman Shivam Dube, along with Sanju Samson get an opportunity in the squad.

Vice-captain Rohit Sharma is set to lead the T20 side in absence of the skipper. Rishabh Pant retains his place in both the teams, but Wriddhiman Saha should keep the wickets ahead of Pant in Tests.

Among other notable players retaining their place in the T20 side are KL Rahul and Yuzvendra Chahal. The likes of Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar should be looking to do well, keeping in mind the T20 World Cup next year.

However, India do not make any changes for the test series, which will be India’s third series in the ICC World Test Championship. India currently sit on top of the World Test Championship points table with 240 points from five matches, while the second best team New Zealand has 60 points after two matches.

India will play a three match T20 series starting from November 3 in Delhi and later play two tests starting on November 14 & 27.
