The Royal Challengers Bangalore slumped to yet another defeat as they lost by 5 runs to the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Match 39 of IPL 2018 was a closely fought affair between the 2 teams. Bangalore won the toss and opted to bowl. Right off the bat, the Sunrisers openers struggled and were dismissed early. Alex Hales departed for 5 runs while Shikhar Dhawan went down after scoring 13 runs.

Fortunately, skipper Kane Williamson stepped up to the plate and knocked a mighty half-century. Manish Pandey also departed for a lowly 5, but Shakib Al Hasan was able to stick around to score 35. Williamson and Al Hasan were able to build a decent partnership. Then Yusuf Pathan came on when the partnership broke and he contributed 12 runs. The remaining batsmen were only able to get in the single digits. In the end, the Sunrisers were all out for 146.
