IPL 2020: Trent Boult Has a Message for Jasprit Bumrah and Mumbai Indians

Trent Boult

There will be changes in every team in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL). Four-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians are one of them who have recently welcomed their new member – Trent Boult as Delhi Capitals released the New Zealand speedster.

However, Mumbai Indians did not release any player in exchange yet. It can be understood that the New Zealand pacer earlier was bought by Mumbai as part of an all-cash deal, although it wasn’t confirmed so far whether Mumbai Indians paid any extra money for this, which Capitals did for Trent Boult in the auction of 2018. Mumbai Indians also drafted in the all-rounder Dhawal Kulkarni for the upcoming season, who has played for Mumbai in the domestic side throughout his life.

Mumbai Indians, however, were searching for a replacement for Australian left-arm fast bowler Jason Behrendorff who had been suffering from an injury earlier. As they wouldn’t get Lasith Malinga’s service in every match, Mumbai needed an experienced seam bowler who can do well with the new ball and at the death as well and also provides the early breakthroughs. The owner of Mumbai Indians, Aakash Ambani has shared his views as well where he said that Boult satisfied all the criteria which they were looking for.

”Mumbai Indians have always taken pride in having a good pace attack,” Aakash Ambani said in a media release. ”Year-on-year our bowlers have won us many games, a classic example being last year’s final. We are delighted to have Trent Boult as part of the MI family. I am sure his experience across formats, especially in limited overs, will add value to our campaign.”

After joining the squad, Trent Boult shared a message for the whole team as well as their star player Jasprit Bumrah.

”Paltan, thank you for the thunderous welcome. I look forward to joining the four-time IPL champions, the Mumbai Indians. I can’t wait to get over it and meet the rest of the gang, especially Boom. Let’s rock this. See you soon, Mumbai!,” Trent Boult concluded.

However, Jasprit Bumrah was quick to reply where he wrote, ”Look forward to playing with you too @trent_boult ⚡”

With the inclusion of two best bowlers in recent times, Mumbai Indians will pose a great threat for other teams in the upcoming season of IPL.
