The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the entertaining leagues in the cricketing circuit since its inaugural edition in 2008. While Mumbai Indians (MI) are the most successful with four titles, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are just behind them with three. Even, Rohit Sharma led MI are the defending champions as they defeated CSK last year.
The auction for the IPL 2020 edition took place on December 19 in Kolkata. While a lot of known faces earned heavy deals, some went unsold as well. In between their preparation for the upcoming season, all the franchises recently took part in a #NewPassword trend on Twitter.
They shared pictures of their password with witty messages. It showed entering the password once and then re-confirming the same. In short, all the teams mostly tried to show their strengths there.
While the Delhi Capitals chose Shreyas Iyer as their password because of his strength and how good he is at the number four spot, other franchises also chose their best of players. Iyer took over the responsibility of Delhi team’s captaincy from Gautam Gambhir and in the last season, he took the side to the playoffs where they lost in the Qualifier 2.
On the other hand, another IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad added David Warner’s name as their password. He has been an important player of their franchise for quite a few seasons. The veteran has also won a number of Orange Caps in IPL. They also added the famous Hyderabadi Biriyani, a delicious delight as the password.
However, Chennai Super Kings had the last laugh. He responded with a witty message to the other IPL teams in the trend of changing passwords. They said that they remember the existing password and they don’t need to change it. CSK took to Twitter and replied, “We remember the existing password. Let’s just #yellove and #WhistlePodu, like always. ????????,”
