Jack Sock To Lose His ATP Ranking Next Week

Recently, Jack Sock dealt with a back injury during his round one match at Challenger Charlotteville, USA. He was playing his countryman, Sekou Bangoura and retired after dropping the first set 6-3 as his back issues got aggravated. With his retirement from the Charlotteville’s challenger event, former World Number eight, Jack Sock will be an un-ranked tennis player on Monday.

The Nebraska-born tennis player, Jack Sock is struggling to make his comeback on the ATP circuit since he returned to the ATP circuit this July. Sock entered Laver Cup 2019 with a win-less record on the singles circuit, but in Geneva, he achieved his first singles victory of the season by defeating the World Number 11, Fabio Fognini in straight sets.

His 2018 season was miserable on the singles domain as his ATP Rankings dropped outside the Top 100 column, but in the doubles discipline, Sock won Slams (Wimbledon and US Open) while he was in tandem with the doubles specialist, Mike Bryan.

Sock began this year with a ranking of World Number 105, and his ranking kept sinking once he resumed swinging his tennis racquets on the professional courts. Presently he is 253rd in the world but on Monday Jack Sock will lose his ATP Ranking.

In 2017, he became the first American in 18 years to clinch the Rolex Paris Masters since Andre Agassi. Soon after his Masters title in France, Jack Sock flew to London for ATP Finals 2017.

Earlier this season, Jack Sock was away from the professional tennis courts for almost six months due to a fractured index finger, it was caused while snowboarding during the off-season 2018 where he hurt his thumb.

Meanwhile, on the hardcourts of Paris, Daniil Medvedev became the latest casualty of the tournament. His dream-run of six-straight finals has been snapped by a French qualifier, Jeremy Chardy in three sets. Also, the defending champion, Karen Khachanov is out from Rolex Paris Masters 2019 after falling to Jan-Lennard Struff in three sets.
