Ahead of the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Kane Williamson praised their opponents England and said that their team has many a match winner.

Williamson also praised their openers and said, “Yeah, those two have been fantastic throughout this whole competition and prior as well.”

He also mentioned the match winners of which the England team is comprised of.

“And I think we mentioned before, there’s a whole — there are a number of other parts to perhaps playing in a World Cup Final. But there is a huge amount of respect for the match-winners that they have within their side, obviously the top of the order and throughout,” the New Zealand captain said.

He also added that the focus for New Zealand would be more on the Cricket and they would try to play good cricket. He also spoke about the unpredictability of the tournament.

“But the focus for us is very much about the cricket that we want to play and the performance we want to put on the board and if we do that, we have seen throughout this competition that anybody can beat anybody, he said.

The general feeling is that England are the favorites to win the World Cup, but a final of a big tournament can see huge upsets, not that New Zealand beating England would be that big an upset.

Previously, England managed to finish just above New Zealand in the league stage. Both the teams also won their semi-finals rather easily to play the finals of cricket’s biggest competition. Ravindra Jadeja threatened to blow New Zealand out of the semi final but New Zealand held their nerve. In the other semi finals, England completely destroyed Australia and stormed into the finals.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 finals should be a great show down and there would be some exciting internal contests between the likes of Joe Root and Lockie Ferguson, Kane Williamson and Jofra Archer.
